U-Shape Three-Side Support Panel
Using two 90-degree angles, U-shaped three-side support acrylic pool panels provide complete transparency on three sides of your pool. No top supports obstruct the 270-degree view.
We can produce and install individual acrylic pool panels in lengths up to 300” without the need for chemical bonding. The angle joints of our U-shaped windows can be created using acrylic bonding, thermoforming, mullions or silicone sealing.
U-Shaped Three-Side Support Acrylic Pool Panels with Bonded Junctions
Chemically bonded joints are an inexpensive and popular solution for joining U-shaped pool windows and walls. The width must be taken into consideration when using bonded junctions; transportation regulations will limit the maximum size unless onsite bonding is employed.
Thermoforming a U-shaped acrylic pool window is a costlier process, but the results are worth it as the corners are utterly seamless. Like chemical bonding, thermoforming requires forethought in width selection due to transportation limitations.
This particular panel configuration utilizes a mullion with independent silicone joints at the junctions. This allows for cost savings as bonding is not required in this configuration. In addition, less concern is placed on transportation issues, as the U shape is assembled on site.
Silicone Seal Junctions
Silicone joints without mullions provide less support, so the window panels must be thicker. As a result, these often fail to provide savings in comparison to the options above, and have limited applications.
Top Edge Styles
There are several edge finishes available for U-shaped three-side acrylic pool windows. Here are the most common edge styles used.
As our standard finish, radius edges make an ideal design for freeboard and infinity windows. It provides a high degree of safety and an appealing appearance. These edges are created in 3/8” and ½” dimensions, with other sizes also available.
Select our bullnose edge to round the tops of your pool windows. This produces an edge-free finish and is most often used on spa pool walls, providing a smooth transition between wet and dry surfaces.
If you have a custom edge design in mind, let us know. We can produce a specific edge style for your pool to give it a personalized appearance.
